I provide doula services for all of Northern Colorado, from Fort Collins to Westminster.
Although I provide doula services at Longmont United Hospital frequently, I am always excited to attend births at other facilities.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Long’s Peak Hospital in Longmont
- Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins
- McKee Medical Center in Loveland
- Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland
- North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley
- Boulder Community Hospital in Boulder
I would love to have the opportunity to be your doula, so please contact me today (even if your birth place isn’t listed above)!
I have the experience, knowledge, and professional certifications to guide you through all phases of your childbirth experience.
Lamaze International Certified Childbirth Educator
I am a Lamaze International Certified Childbirth Educator and have been the Family Life Education Coordinator for the BirthPlace at Longmont United Hospital for 20+ years.
The Childbirth Preparation class is designed to prepare you and your family for the physical and emotional changes that occur during labor, birth, and the early postpartum period.
Emphasis is placed on understanding the stages of labor, the roles of people involved with your birth, and learning various coping techniques and comfort measures to decrease the stress of labor and birth.
It is best if you enroll in the third trimester.
Sign up for the class or view the Longmont United Hospital Childbirth Preparation Class schedule. If you are unable to make it to Longmont for class, I am happy to announce that we now offer an online version of our Childbirth class.
DONA Certified Labor Doula
I have been certified by Doulas of North America (DONA) International, the “oldest, largest, and most respected doula association in the world”. So when that special moment arrives, you know that you and your baby are in the best doula hands possible with Darcie.
If you don’t have time to check out the DONA website, here are a few of the highlights:
DONA International has the highest certification standards for doulas worldwide. When a doula proudly adds the letters CD(DONA) or PCD(DONA) after her name, it shows the world she has met all the requirements of our rigorous certification program. Achieving certification is a process that requires considerable time and effort.
You can read more about what a doula is on our What Is A Doula? page.
Once you know what a doula is, you can read more about the benefits to mother and baby of using a doula on our Is A Doula Right For Me? page.
After you know the basics and benefits of a doula, you can read more about my doula philosophy.
Certified Lactation Counselor
Chances are, you’ve been so focused on birthing a healthy baby that you haven’t had much time or energy to give thought to what happens afterward. Once baby is born, he or she will want to eat.
It’s a lot of work being born!
If you’re not one of the lucky women who breastfeed easily from the start, it can prove to be a frustrating experience.
Not to worry, Darcie is also a Certified Lactation Counselor and will be right by your side to help.
